I'm starting to feel like it's going to happen! My next office visit is July 1 and if I can lose 5 lbs by then we can submit insurance paperwork... they said about 1-2 weeks on average for approval... and then about 3-4 weeks to get on the surgery schedule... so in 10 weeks I could have my band!!! Also did some calling to insurance and the hospital and have figured my part of the bill after insurance should be around $1500... which is SO MUCH LESS than I was imagining! I was wondering if I'd have to take out a 401k loan (which was supposed to be for our wedding next summer- so I had already in my mind toned down the wedding... I may keep it toned down and save the cash...)

So I'm starting to feel excited!!! :Dancing_biggrin:

I wouldn't touch my 401k for a wedding LOL, no way.

Good luck on your last 5 pounds, hope you get your approval soon :thumbup:

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
