Do you consider salad a "slider" food?

Recommended Posts

I rediscovered salads last week and really enjoyed it because that the first meal in a long time I didn't have a problem with. Since my 3rd fill, I have a difficult time eating without getting stuck. So, I was really happy when I decided on a salad the other day for lunch

I don't know about "slider" food but at day 15, I'm allowed to try regular food with precautions (eat very tiny bites, chew (!!!), swallow carefully and immediately put down anything that causes discomfort.

I surprised myself by having some salad today. We had a salad in the fridge and I honestly thought I would just be picking out bits of chicken, bacon, feta, etc. but the lettuce also went down quite easily.

I was rather freaked out by that as I had expected to have far more restriction. I am not starving and had only a cup of salad or so, but it was still far more than I thought I would be able to eat.

I don't expect a fill until July so hope I am not running into "bandster hell" in the near future.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
