Hey everyone. So, I had my surgery one week ago today, and I did well with the pain and had no nausea problems. But then on Tuesday, I felt mildly to moderately nauseous all day. I took the anti nausea meds the hospital gave me, but honestly the nausea never completely went away. Wednesday, I felt a little better, but still had bouts of nausea throughout the day. Today, once again, woke up feeling nauseous. Wondering what this could possibly be or what I could try to remedy it. It's not severe enough where i'm vomiting, but it is starting the bother me.

A similar thing happened to me. I was fine for several days, then I had terrible nausea for a week. It went away as the stomach swelling from surgery went down, but it was rough. Medication didn't help at all.

I think I tried to sit upright and go about my usual activities too soon. Take it easy, and stay in touch with your doc if it doesn't go away within a few days.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
