My surgery is tomorrow. So many thoughts going through my head. Excited. Weepy. Thinking of writing just in case letters to people. I feel like it's a rebirth, but I see all the roads not taken behind and before me. Does any of this make any sense?

Makes a lot of sense to me and I'm no where near my surgery yet. But, from what I'm told, you're checked out and screened very well before the surgery, so you should try to take a deep breath and relax. I'm sure you've chosen a great surgeon and now it's time to put your faith in his abilities, right?

I will think great thoughts and send them your way. Keep your eye on the prize. You're on your way to a whole new you! How exciting is that?!

Did you take ''before'' pics, so you'll be able to track your progress? I've been looking at those posted on this site for awhile this afternoon and it is so inspiring!

Good luck to you tomorrow. . . I can relate to how you feel. I just got my approval today and now I am excited and nervous all at the same time. Once it really seems real, emotions take over. Look at this as a new road to a new you! Follow what the dr's say and you will be skinny in no time.

Yes, all these feelings are normal. I almost backed out on my way into the operating room. I'm glad I was too groggy to say so. It was over before I knew it. Now I'm 3 months out and 40 lbs. lighter.

You can do it! Good Luck! looking forward to hearing from you afterwards

I wish I could figure out how to get my ticker on there to show my progress. Started at 265 in September of last year and I'm at 200 as of today. Yeah!

I can say this for my personal experience. I had no nervousness. I knew this process would cover my issues...Compulsive overeating and never feeling physically full. It did the trick. I no longer have problems with either of those issues.

I wish I had done tis 10 years ago. My husband loves the new me and so do I.

Don't be scared. It's not that hard. I was up and driving my kid to school the next day. I did a lot of meditation and relaxation technqiques prior to my surgery though. Reiki, meditation, and visualization of my success. It helped me tons.

You'll do great. Just remember the band is a process. Keep on this board and ask a lot of questions. And know that what you are going through, hundreds of us have gone through as well so just keep posting. You'll find the answers you need here.

One thing I have noticed is that many people don't have the educational and post-op support that I did that made my last 9 months so easy.

I'm down 65 pounds (Starting weight 265) and I feel great. The band works! And you'll do great! Just be patient and relax.

How to get the ticker in your signature

This may seem like a lot but it' honestly pretty easy and doesn't take long at all.

Let me know if you have any issues.

If you want a weight tracker in your signature

* Go to http://tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php?type=3 and select weight loss link.

* Choose the ruler design (several pages of designs), then press next

* Choose your ticker slider, and then press next

* Complete your personal info, this pin/password is important because it allows you to change your update your info on the site. You don’t have to complete the measurements section unless you want to.

* Click the link that shows up with ticker web address; make sure you bookmark that page so that you can update your weight. If you want to update your weight go back to the bookmark and update it, no need to change your signature on the LAP-BAND® site it will automatically update when you change it on the ticker site.

* Scroll down copy the entire link that is in the section titled bbCode

* Go to your profile on lapbandtalk and click on the “User CP” tab.

* In the control panel select “Edit Signature”

* In the text box you can pretty much type anything you want, make sure you paste the code from your ticker page here also.

* Save signature, you can preview it first if you want to check that it looks good before you save.

That’s it!!

Now if you want to have your signature show up in your post go to the “Edit Options” link located under the edit signature link.

* Stroll down to Thread Display Options and check the box that says “show signatures” and save changes

Hope this helps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
