Not sure if I need another fill, but not losing weight

Recommended Posts

SO I was just thinking I am supposed to go to the Dr. next Wednesday for my appointment and to get my band adjusted if necessary. Only there is a problem, I don't know if I need a fill or not. I have not lost much this month--three pounds to be exact. I am tight in the AM and usually just have a shake for breakfast--it is quick, has a lot of Protein grams and keeps me on track since I do not have time to cook in the morning.

I have a mid morning snack of greek yogurt, and then lunch which is usually a salad with an ounce or two of chicken breast, tuna, or some other protein.

Once home from work, I have another snack--maybe hummus and whole wheat pita chips, or cheese cubes and whole wheat crackers.

dinner consists of 2 ounces of protein, some veggies, some fruit and maybe some mashed potatoes. Totally a cup or less total.

If my protein needs help I add another scoop of powder to 4 oz. of Water to keep the grams up to prevent Hair loss.< /p>

I do not have to cut things up really small, but I do find I get mildly stuck on occasion. Usually if I eat too fast or am distracted by talking and swallow before chewing totally. I have never PB'd, but I have slimed a bit.

So what do you all think? Am I almost at my sweet spot, but not quiet there yet or am I just not eating the proper things to help me lose weight? I am exercising at least three times per week for 1.5 hours at the gym (cardio and weights) and one or two days of just walking for about two miles. I will go to my scheduled appt. on Wednesday, but just wanted an idea about if I should get another fill or not. Currently there are 5 cc's in my 10cc band.

I think as you get close and its just a matter of tweaking its hard to know 100% and not as obvious as it is for the first few fills.

You don't mention how hungry you are. That's a huge indicator of needing a fill. Sounds like you are eating really well. If your feeling satisfied with that amount of food, I would say you probably don't need a fill. However, I would go to the doctor and discuss. Best wishes!

Good point, I will have to monitor that a bit more, but usually the shake lasts about 2 hours before I feel hungry, the yogurt holds for about 2 hours, the salad for two to three hours. By the time I get home from work the hunger is strong and I am ready to eat anything I can find--that is why the Snacks are now all ready and pre-planned to prevent me form just eating anything I can find! dinner is about 3 hours later and no late night hunger or anything, but I do have a SF popsicle or two every so often.

Well, it was decided that I am at that place between yellow and green, but not quite green yet, so a small fill of .5 cc. liquids are staying down with small sips and I am feeling pretty good. We shall see what tomorrow brings. I guess I am so conditioned from my other diet days that I should be losing more weight that I was waiting to get scolded for only losing 4 pounds in the last four weeks. It is a very new approach when you are told to keep up the good work instead!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
