Too tight or bad bandster?

Recommended Posts

I'm having problems getting stuck. Here's the story...

I order my 4 pc kids meal with a large iced tea. We pull in to the adjacent Wal-Mart parking lot and I take a bite of my McNugget then a swig of tea, not thru the straw. OUCH. Oh that's not good. I try and bite of nugget because I'm a fat kid and I want more food. Nope...Not moving. More tea...oh that's really bad. The slime starts. SLIME SLIME SLIME SLIME SLIME SLIME. I've wasted all of the napkins. I get out and walk around. It takes me 25-30 minutes to get the food down.

Next day...Two bites and some tea and I'm stuck again. This time the food comes up in a slimy ball of goo.

Am I getting stuck because I'm too tight or because I'm drinking with meals?

Sounds like it's because your drinking with meals- a real no no. Also- additional drinking will only make a stuck episode get worse. I hope your not offended, but I just have to comment that chicken nuggets are not the best weight loss food. Fast food resturaunts are tough- I stay away from them. Best wishes!

Put out your wrist. Bad bandster, bad!

Drinking while eating seems to reconstitute Proteins no matter how much you chewed prior to swallowing.

Lesson learned.

I learned this the hard way with chicken as well. It was 2 weeks ago and it was the last time I drank with a meal.

I will try and stay away from my whole anti-McDonald's spiel before I get called a preacher again.

I think the better question here would be: WHY are you eating chicken McNuggets??? I don't think that there is a Surgeon/Doctor/Nutritionist on the planet that would sat that is a GOOD choice....ice tea or not.

I have the same problem if I drink with my meal or within 20-30 minutes afterwards, I surmise that the liquid is causing what is down there to swell a bit and then it is a volcano. So try not drinking and see what happens. If you still get stuck, you are taking too big of bites and not chewing well enough.

Bad bandster, lol.

Its the drinking. I drank with meals for the longest time, it didnt bother me, but past a certain level of restriction I couldnt do it anymore (other than tiny sips of wine if I'm out). I cant even have a cookie with a cup of coffee sometimes.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
