Are you hot all the time?

Recommended Posts

I never complain in the winter and am always so miserable and hot all summer long. When you lose dramatic amounts of weight, does this change? I hate to be the sweaty fat chick! Is it as simple as having more or less padding/insulation or is there more at play?

I'm sweating most of the time but I heard that it will eventually go away.

I was a hotbox for years. Now I'm usually on the cool side. Even in hot weather, my "hot" is alot less hot than it used to be. Something for you to look forward to!

I am cold all the time now. I live in Houston, TX also. My family hates it. We fight over the a/c settings... :rolleyes:What a difference losing some "insulation" makes on our body temperatures. (at least for me anyway)

I found I had a time where I was freezing constantly, it lasted about six months. Then I adjusted.

I definitely feel the cold a lot more now, i need to wear more clothes. I enjoy summer so much, and I would never have thought I was hotter than the average person before.

I live in central texas. In winter, I could sit outside with just a long sleeve shirt in the cold and never feel it. People thought I was crazy. In the summer I sweat my butty off. Since I've lost 40 lbs., so far i'm not as hot natured. I like it. I also have more energy to do things.

I am very seldom extremely hot/sweaty anymore. This past weekend we attended the Bayou Country Superfest in Tiger Stadium (outside). It was 92, and humid like it ALWAYS is in southern Louisiana. I was hot, but not nearly as sweaty as my 130 lb 18 year old daughter. 2 years ago, I probably wouldn't even have gone to the concert. The heat would have been unbearable. I also now complain about being cold at night when I used to sweat.

This is all great news for my sweaty self! Something indeed to look forward to.

I've lost 60 lbs already but I'll be patient. Tomorrow's supposed to be 86. Sigh.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
