Hi Brenda! I'm feeling pretty good, about the same as you! I also hate broth and I'm getting sick and tired of the sweetener aftertaste. I'm also having a heck of a time falling to sleep at night. *sigh* I hope that one goes away soon!

I was banded on the 28th and just got home from Tijuana, Mexico. The pain is bothering me and I am not complaining. I just hope it doesn't last for more than a week or two.

I'm on my first week of clear fluids. I've been mostly eating Jello, chicken broth and cranberry juice. Next week will be my home made juices with a Norwalk Juicer. Can hardly wait to graduate to fish

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say I am enjoying hearing everyone's experience! I am @ 9 days banded and starving*** Had my (1 week)follow-up Dr. Ganta and said I would be hungry but this is crazy. Are of you guys having the same? What portion sizes are you having? How often are you eating? I am having almost no pain at all now except for 1 stitch that is sticking out , hope it goes away soon. Please reply I am curious to know how everyone is feeling.

Brenda

Congrats! I am glad that you have a good support person there with you in your husband's absence. He will certainly be thrilled the next time he sees you! This was definitely a good place to post your introduction. I have received so many good pieces of advice and was able to find the answers to most of my questions here. Good luck to you, and I hope you are successful in your journey!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
