nylamo 0 Posted May 31, 2010 I am currently waiting for an upper GI scope on 6/22. This will determine if I have ulcers. If I do have ulcers, I will not be able to have the procedure. If I don't then I will hopefully move on the fast track to getting everything done. I would really like to have the procedure before school starts in the fall because I don't want to miss any work. My husband goes in for his first meeting with the weight loss center in a couple weeks. We are really hoping to have the surgeries done at the same time.
susi1662 3 Posted May 31, 2010 I had my EGD done on the 3rd of may, to check for hiatal hernia and other stomach issues. They did find that I have a hernia, but no other problems, thank goodness, so I am okayed for that test. It's great that you and your husband will be doing this together! Good luck! Hetty172 2 Posted June 2, 2010 I'm also just starting out. I had my first appointment with the surgeon in early May and have all my other testing scheduled for this month. The only thing left is the 3-months worth of monitoring with a nutritionist and I'll be good to go -- probably in the fall. My husband is also going through with the surgery. I think it will make all the difference to have each other to lean on through this adjustment period. Good luck to you! You'll have to keep everyone posted of your progress!
