Hi Jen! I'm a May 3 Bandster... I'm doing well. I'm down 14 pounds. I had my first fill on the 26th (1cc) and I don't feel any different. I'm still as hungry as can be. I try to stay under 1350 calories a day. At this point it's willpower.. I don't think the band has much to do with it. I see my doc again on the 9th of June. Glad to hear all is going well for you. Have you found that you can't eat certain foods? At this point I have no trouble eating anything. I think I need another fill. .. but I don't want to be puking.. We'll see what the doc says.

Wow you got a fill already? You are so lucky, I am trying to stay around 800 or 900 calories a day every now and then I am up to 1000. How was the fill? Was it painful? I did find that I had a problem with a hard boiled egg and haven't eaten that again. That is great you are down 14lbs!!! AWESOME... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Thanks Jen... The fill wasn't bad at all. My surgeon did it under a fluoroscopy for the first time to make sure the band was still in the proper place.. plus wanted to make sure I could swallow liquids so he wouldn't have to come back on the holiday weekend in case I had troubles. lol.. It didn't hurt. He numbed me with an injection first. It took about 10 minutes from the time I got on the table to the time I stepped off.

Best of luck to you! You are doing great. Let's keep in touch!

Hey May 3rd crowd,

I am doing fine except I want to get my first fill soon. Unfortuantely due to work and schedule conflict I have to wait until the 29th of June. I am still eating well for the most part and exercising like a mad man so I don't gain anything. I am loosing a little still but just thankful I am not gaining like some I have read about until I get the first fill.

I really don't feel resticted at all at this point, so I think I am doing well out of fear of gaining at this point. I don't want to go backwards.

Good Luck everybody...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
