looking for plastic surgeon Colo. Springs/Denver area

Recommended Posts

I think I am more afraid of plastic surgery than I was of lapband surgery. Maybe it's because of all the horror stories in the press over the years related to plastic surgeries gone wrong.

I would like to find someone who has done many procedures on people who have had WLS. I don't want someone who has straightened many noses or given women with "A" cups big "D" orbs.

I want to start with my arms. They are driving me crazy. The excess skin on my upper arms is very bad.

If you have had excess skin removed in the Colorado Springs or Denver area, please tell me about your surgeon and the procedure ....... cost?, recovery time?, time off work?.............

Hi,

I am currently at the same stage of my journey as you. I have been obsessed with reading and researching about plastic surgery.

With that said, I have found some information that might help you find a surgeon in your area.

Try www.asbps.org for help with your search.

The American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons has been established by plastic surgeons that specialize in body contouring surgery specifically for patients that have lost significant amounts of weight through non-surgical means such as diet or exercise or through the various bariatric procedures. ASBPS's goal is to help these patients find an knowledgeable and experienced plastic surgeon to help them.

Thanks for the info. I tried the search and it came up with no matches within 500 miles. I'm sure there must be some, but they are not a member of ASBPS.

Hummingbird, ask you bariatrics surgeon for a referal.

He/she usually knows someone who is expierenced with the lapband. I had my arms done and was off 10 days which was plenty (that included the weekends).

We had a plastic surgeon come to our support group at Swedish Hospital in Denver (I was banded by Dr Tillquist at Swedish).

Do you attend the support group at the hospital you were banded at? Kelly Elliott (the nutritionist) should be able to give you the info for the surgeon she invites to group. There were a few people in our support group that had been patients of his with some really great results!

Like you, when I get to goal, my batwings have got to go!

Just wondering what the Drs. name is?? I am probably going to go with Dr Murphy (he is in the Swedish med building) He seems uite caring and his price is reasonable.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
