Having Difficulties getting on track...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was banded on Sept 14, 2009 and have since lost 70lbs (within the first 6 mnths) I have lost NOTHING since then!!!

Because of no movement on the scales i have noticed my portion sizes going up within the last few weeks and i've been making poor food choice decisions and can't seem to stop myself. It's like my body just super craves these salty/sweet foods and I have to have them!!!!

I have 6.7cc in a 10cc band and have NO restriction at all...I can eat whatever I want and in whatever quantity. There is no band slippage or problems i'm just not getting restriction. My last fill was 3 weeks ago and i only notice i for a could of days after the fill then it's back to normal....

I'm so disappointed and frustrated with myself as I look at the changes in my body and DO NOT want to go back to the way I was before!! Help me how does one get back on track??

I agree- sounds like you might want to see if you can get in for a fill. Until you get restriction, I would focus on eating the right foods (low carb, low fat, lots of protien yada yada). Don't worry too much about quantity yet.

Also- start working out if you haven't already. It will relieve stress and help curb your hunger, never mind burn calories and increase your metabolism. Good luck!

David:

100 lbs you should be celebrating Congratulations. I think you need to ease up a bit, granted 5 lbs can be too much for some, but you have really done well and if you gained 5 lbs it could be from working out remember muscle weighs more and maybe your body is in starvation mode or last but not least, you might have drank to much Water and it could be Water weight.

You are an inspiration to many, keep up the good work!

Good Luck!

Sandee

Agreed- No restriction means you need a fill. One of my number one rules is to stay close to my surgeon and go in often and regular. Call on Tue. and make that appointment! Best wishes!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
