I know this is probably a really dumb question, but me and my sister are going to Kennywood (amusement park) in July. Do you think I'll be able to ride rides safely having been banded May 13? I'm very paranoid about something getting displaced in there! lol I'd appreciate you guys telling me your experiences with this!

You should be fine. I went to an amusement park a little while after getting banded and didn't hesitate on any rides. The strangest thing was you dont get the butterflies in your stomach feeling anymore. So on scary rides the anticipation might kill you but the band wont :smile2:

I have a post about my experience on my blog. It was in February I believe.

I say go for it but it wouldn't hurt to call your surgeon's office and get their opinion.

I'd call your dr's office just to be sure. I was told to wait. If I can't exercise normally for 6 weeks, then I'm sure as heck not gonna go on a rollercoaster :smile2: I can't wait until I can again though

My family and I went to Universal Studios during Thanksgiving and I was 16 months post op. I rode a LOT of rides, but the thing that hurt my band was the freaking Jimmy Neutron ride. It is a simulator ride that involved a lot of bouncing up and down like on a really bumpy road. It just goes to show, that the weirdest things can give you problems. I hurt for two days from that ride. I found out during a field trip this year, that I also don't do well in the back of a school bus. It is just too bumpy.

So, ask your surgeon to be certain, but you will probably get clearance. Have fun!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
