I love Peanut Butter also. I always have the smuckers natural with a banana for a snack or an evening workout or even after dinner if I need something sweet or am still hungry. Cant do it in the morning like a used to but I love it so much that I can have it at anytime

I also make my Protein shakes with about 1/2 table spoon. vanilla Muscle Milk with a frozen cup of skim milk and PB!!! YUM!!!!

Or on a spoon! I can have it with crackers depending on the cracker if its not too dry and I eat it slowly-like a wheat thin or something like that.

So am I the only person who has had a problem with Peanut Butter? I tried some on my third weekend after surgery and was very careful to have only a small amount and made sure it was the stirrable extra creamy kind, and some got stuck. But it did not come back up, it just stayed there and I had pain for a good 24 hours from irritating everything. Since then I have read lots of post-op food "don'ts" and it seems Peanut Butter is on a lot of "don't" lists.

But I guess everyone is different.

slice a banana in 1 - 1 1/2 inch thick slices coat with peanut butter...I like the all natural NO SUGAR kind.. stick one of those little wooden picks you use for finger food at parties (you find them right next to the toothpicks in the store). Pop them in the freezer. It takes longer to eat, and its cool and refreshing!

I actually use a product called Better-n-Peanut Butter. You can get it at Trader Joes. It has 100 calories, only 2 grams of fat and 4 of Protein for 2 tablespoons. Anyway, I do the 2 T and a bit of jelly and smash up a large cracker. That way I'm getting some crunch in. It's a yummy dessert for me.

Everyone is different, but DO's and DON'Ts change over time. You could try a VERY small amount and see how it effects you. Many people find it best to try new introductions later in the day when your band is more forgiving.

I eat peanut butter more days than not. On toast, melted in oatmeal or Protein shakes, as a dip, or as "The Big Boy" said, right off the spoon! I prefer either a natural product or the Smart Balance brand. You have to watch the labels because a lot of Brand name spreads have added refined sugars and hydrogenated oils.

I did a search here for shakes and found someone who listed a bunch of shake recipes and on that list was Peanut Butter balls, they were so great.

1/2 c Peanut Butter

1/4 c honey

1 scoop vanilla Protein powder

Roll them into balls and place in fridge till chilled.

I'm going to try it with chocolate Protein powder next time, I think it would be great, chocolate in my peanut butter, mmmm.

Its one of the few Protein shakes I will happily drink - vanilla Protein powder, frozen banana, Peanut Butter, mmmmmm.

On rice cakes (with butter though, sigh) mmmmmmmm.

Off the spoon.

good satay sauce -I make gado gado - steamed veg, hardboiled eggs, and a homemade satay sauce, bliss.

spread on an apple, that's delicious.

It drives me NUTS (haha, pun intended) that school is a nut free zone, no nuts of any kids. Where are all today's kids at with their peanut allergies? I cant ever take it for Snacks, lunch, nothing.

I sometimes mix a TBSP into my 6oz container of plain Chobani yogurt add a few splendas and you have Peanut Butter fluff...yum.. I usually do it if I'm wanting sweet and sometimes I stick it in the freezer for a little bit which makes it sort of like ice cream.

I love Peanut Butter, expecially right from the spoon. The only problem with that is my spoon tends to find it's way back into the container several times and my guesstimation gets larger each time. Now I'm determined to dip a teaspoon in and spread that on an apple or banana for a snack. I use a creamy natural brand.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
