All I heard BEFORE my surgery was how much I was going to gag and puke after surgery....

I vomitted ONCE - at the hospital - and it was so minor...

It's now been 2 weeks... a few times I've over stuffed my pouch and the pain comes... the discomfort... but no puking.... is something wrong with me? Have I ruined something? Or am I extremely lucky and just a bit paranoid???? HELP!:tongue2:

I never vomited at all after surgery. The closest i came was about a week out, i got nauseous so bad, that i came close. The only kind of "refunding" Ive done is when Ive eaten to fast or got stuck, but that's not the same as vomiting.

Everyone handles every aspect of the surgery different. You appear to have handled it quite well.

Ive never typed vomiting so many times before, kinda weird, kinda gross. LOL!

Good luck!

I'm 5 days post-op and have not vommited once...even after taking vicodin on my empty/filled with Water pouch. I would not be worried at all...i would say you are just lucky!

hope you are enjoying banded life!

I was never sick until after my 3rd or 4th fill, and then its only when I let myself get too hungry and eat too fast or too much.

Does everyone consider it vomitting if you eat to fast and have to chuck it back up within a couple of minutes of eating it, or is it after it has sat in your stomach awhile and comes up later all nasty. I was wondering because I am still learning to eat slower and at times I have to "refund" it as revren said and I dont consider that destructive to the band, I have only once had to vomit where it actually hurt. Just wondering

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
