Ok I was filled again last wk wed and since then I can barley eat. I was throwing up a lot becuase things kept getting stuck. Then I realized I was eating too fast and needing to chew more, but it takes me about an hr to finish eating a meal. I have been throwing up almost everytime I eat. I don't think I have been practicing the chewing too well or eating too fast. I don't know I think I may need to be unfilled a lil what do you think. I said I was gonna wait a few days and see how things go before going back to clinic. Since last wk I have lost 5lbs

I'm going through the same thing. I got another fill this past Thursday and I'm trying to wait it out. I've been able to drink Water, Protein shakes, and very little Soup so I guess it's ok for now. When I've tried other things I've vomitted.

I'll be waiting to hear others responses.

Yeah I have tried other things that were ok when I chew well and eat really slow, but im afraid of chicken, and bread. I had crab and spinach this wk end and it went down fine. I see im am to take small sips now of Water. I was taking gulps and it would feel like it was getting stuck.

I had this happened in my last fill and yes I was too tight. I lost 18 lbs. in a month, which for me it's a lot. The doctor unfill a little bit and I was fine for the first three weeks but for some reason this weekend I wasn't able to eat again. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'm definitly going to have him unfill just a "tiny" more. It can be unconfortable at times. Hang in there.

I had the same thing happen to me. I had a fill on Thursday and had trouble ever since. For the first time ever, I threw up and had troubles w. yogurt and shakes. I gave it four days to let the swelling go down and it was just getting worse. I went in today for a slight unfill (.4ccs removed) and I feel tremendously better. My doctor told me that I did the right thing. Four days of being that tight is enough. More often than not, band issues start with people being too tight for too long. Ultimately, mistaking tightness and pain w/ restriction. Be careful and listen to your body.

Best,

Lauren

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
