What do you use for blending?

Recommended Posts

So I have a full size blender/food processor combo that I got for my wedding. I am wondering though if I should get something more along the lines of a magic bullet. If I am only going to be eating very small portions, I am afraid the blender won't even be able to get it because it's too big. The Magic Bullet reviews are so mixed though, and it's $50. I saw a personal sized blender that had good reviews, but it says not to blend any meats so it wouldn't work in the mushy stage, although it would work for any smoothies. It was only $17.

So what do you use to blend any Protein Drink smoothies and also foods for the mushie stage?

I was using a big blender and when I was on my liquid faze, thats like at least 3 times a day cleaning it and reusing it. It was such a pain that I got on Amazon and did some research. I got the tribest personal blender 200. It seemed to have better reviews then the magic bullet, I just got it a couple days ago so I havent tried it yet!

I've had the Tribest for years, and it sure does the trick with anything. Even took it to China with me. I'm going on vacation the beginning of July and will still be on mushies, so it will be going with me then, too.

I have used my magic bullet almost everyday for the last year and it has never messed up. In fact, I just bought a 2nd one for my office. I drink shakes for Breakfast everyday and this is the easiest way too make one and not make too much of a mess. I tried using my standrd blender when I first started this journey but I put it away nearly a year ago and have not taken it out of the closet.

The Bullet is great for Protein Shakes. Use it every day. Seems to hold up pretty well and blends wonderfully.

I have a bella cucina rocket blender, which is like a Magic Bullet knock off for half the price. so far ive only used it to mix shakes and to whip up eggs so they'll be nice and fluffy. No problems yet.

I use a hand blender. I love it! you can stick in a cup, bowl, pot.... anything! For cleaning, all you have to do is rinse it off.

It depends on what I'm blending, but typically choose between a traditional Osterizer blender and a hand-held blender. The hand-held is great for smaller portions.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
