mattinfll 1 Posted May 22, 2010 I hear that in Mexico you can only get the "old model" of lap band, instead of the LapBand AP. Is this true? And if it is, does anyone know if it really matters? Whatever they improved may not make much of a practical difference. Thanks for any help!
mattinfll 1 Posted May 25, 2010 Well, I found out some doctors in Mexico will use the AP model if you request it, but it does cost a little more. I think I would prefer to have the latest model if possible. But input on this is still welcome.
cactusmom 0 Posted May 26, 2010 I'm not sure of the name of the new one, but that's the one you should get...definately. My doctor said he's done over 800 with the new band, and no situations of slippage yet with any of them. He said eventually he'll see slilppage, but because it is longer, there is less likely of slippage. Good luck.
