prat72 0 Posted May 20, 2010 Finally something besides a shake. I am so excited to be able to eat again. Wasn't supposed to start until today but did eat last night. And I haven't felt this good since surgery, I think it was the milk in the shakes. I have felt this chest pain like a burp waiting but now not so much. Grits this am but on 2g of Protein so I added an am snack of yogurt for 6g and that only puts me behind 7g from where I like to be in the am.
jensmallwood 0 Posted May 20, 2010 Ah, yes-- I remember how much I was looking forward to eating some cottage cheese during the last few days of my liquid phase. Anything that I could use a spoon with made me happy! It's so funny....

Anything that I could use a spoon with made me happy! It's so funny.... Same here, just to be able to chew, even if it wasn't really chewing! I was just so tired of just swollowing my food!!! Soup is good, but man you need some real food every once in a while!
perryjoyce 0 Posted May 20, 2010 Eight more days until mushies for me! I'm already composing the sonnet in my head over my first bite of...well, anything really. I'm doing remarkably fine on liquids but I won't lie, the sound of grits, cottage cheese, yogurt, mashed potatoes - it all sounds so wonderful! I kinda love that I'm "detoxing" my body from food in a way, and then slowly reintroducing the things that I love that are healthy. I just feel like I'll be able to appreciate the little things that much more, rather than just eating quickly and in the biggest portions possible.
