I'm looking for things that I can have during my first week after surgery because I am only allowed to have Water based things such as popsicles, jello, broth and water based Protein for the first week before I can move onto thicker liquids such as yogurt and shakes. I found something call Isopure at GNC, it has 40 grams of protein in a 20oz bottle and 0 carbs. I think thats pretty good. I wanted to know had anyone tried Isopure before and did it leave them with a full feeling? And also what flavors did you enjoy the most?

I am currently using the ISo Sensation and it is pretty good. It does leave me feeling full. The flavour I have is banana. Does not taste like a pizza, but fills the void when hungry :-)

I think the Isopure is great for when you're feeling hungry, it definitely takes away the hunger pains. I've only tried the apple, I like it diluted with ice and Water. You could probably put it in the blender and make a slushee. :)

My surgeon recommended it to me. He drinks it when he works out!

Occasionally I use it as a supplement between meals. I haven't noticed that it makes me feel any more full than, say Water. But it definitely has the Protein we need!

Best wishes on your exciting weight loss journey!

I liked the grape, passion fruit, strawberry/orange/banana and alpine fruit punch the best.

Isopure filled my pouch easily and I was full. It was a great protein option for a light liquid. The texture to me was horrible. it was very slimey and then chalky even with vigorous shaking. The actual flavor was not bad. I had a mango flavor I believe. Once I could move to shakes on day 3 I went back to my EAS Myoplex AdvantEDGE.

The white fibers are part of the Protein complex I believe. It may actually be a sugar substitute that solidified.

When you shake it they go away but come back.

It was part of the reason I did not like the texture.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
