Ate way too much yesterday!!!

Recommended Posts

I ate so much yesterday and feel so guilty about it. I had about 1000 calories and I am only 16 days post op. I joined the gym on Sunday and went twice so far but hurt my knee and was told I have tendonitis so I have to wait for the inflammation to go down before I can start exercising again!!!! I am just getting into a rut and feel like crap. I am trying to hardly eat anything today but I am starving now after eating so much yesterday. HELP!!!!

1000 calories is too little! You can still exercise though. Get some 3-5 pound weights and do some lifting with your arms...

PLEASE DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT THIS! You are human and as such you will make mistakes! Although I have to agree that 1000 calories is not a problem. Now, if it was 5000 calories, then that IS too much. We all have good days and bad days. Days when we're hungry all day and days we have to urge ourselves to eat anything at all. Guilt is a powerfully negative emotion, and it is USELESS. That being said, I've felt guilt myself at times with my eating. Please just try to remember (as I try to) that you are human and you will make mistakes from time to time. :w00t:

Good heavens. It might be too much, it might be too little, and it might be JUST RIGHT. There's no way of knowing without knowing a whole lot more about a person.

Re: the weights. My doctor did NOT clear me for any weight lifting until after my four-week check; before you do more than basic cardio stuff, check with your doctor to make sure it's okay.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
