I agree with the other posters that you might need to up your calories for a bit. If you're working out more than you used to, your body could go into starvation mode and hold on to everything you eat. Does your doctor's office have a nutritionist you can talk to? They can sort of help guide you through that part because I've had trainers say to up the calories so that your body realizes that you will feed it.

Omg....so much information. I admire some of you that excercise as much as you do! I thought I was doing good but in comparison to some of you...WOW...I'm doing nothing. There isn't enough time in the day nor do I have the stamina to up my exercise at this point.

I never thought about eating MORE. That just scares me! I feel like I'm eating all the time because the band only holds me for a couple hours. Perhaps I'll try weight watchers again....I'm just afraid that I wont be able to eat as much as the plan calls for. All I know is, this sucks and something's got to give.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
