Bandsters I need your support

Recommended Posts

I got banded about 4 months ago and sort of felt like I was going this alone. So many people have inspired me when I come on here and see their progress but I had no one keeping me on track. My husband has been the same weight since I met him over 20 years ago, and my teenage daughter has always been against my surgery. She says I am just lazy taking this way out.

Anyway I started a blog a few days ago, to get my feelings out and record my progress along the way. But right now I only have a few people following me which makes me once again feel like I am all alone here.

If you have a minute can you follow me on my blog to keep me inspired on my mission to stay on track.

Thanks.

Hang in there sounds like you are doing great. My husband is very supportive but like yours he has weighed the same since we got married 29 years ago. Feel free to private message me anytime.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
