Just wondering how you felt in making your decision.

Check out the poll that follows:

NOTE: Messed up and did not do a poll. My options would have been:

1- Had no doubts, full speed ahead

2- Had some concerns, but was satisfied with my research.

3- I hesitated but felt it was an efficient way to get healthy again.

4- I didn't want to do it, but it was the only way to stop the downward trend of my health. Had comorbidities, and have not been successful in other attempts.

Regards

Hal

I would have picked #2

And now that I'm 1 1/2 months post-op I am so very happy with my decision. Between my pre-op diet and the surgery I'm down 38 1/2lbs. I know this time I'm going to lose the weight for good and I'm so excited about that.

For me, it was an evolution from, "no way, no how" to no doubts, full speed ahead.

The journey started in the early 90s, when I worked with a surgeon who did an earlier version of banding. I was not at my heaviest then, still believed I could do it on my own, and very much did NOT like what I was seeing, results-wise.

Fast forward a couple of decades, when it had become evident that I needed a way OUT. Techniques had come light-years, and by the time I genuinely considered it for myself, it was a full-steam-ahead, no doubts thing.

And it was the best decision I've made in a very, very long time.

Once I realized (through research and speaking with doctors) that the Lap Band wasn't a gimmick and didn't involve rewiring organs or anything, I was definitely #1 - full speed ahead!

I can't tell you the feeling of relief that washed over me when I accepted that this was a viable and successful tool that has helped so many finally take control. I went from being completely depressed and borderline hopeless to knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that I could make this work.

I would have to say #2 it wasn't my first choice of weight loss but after I failed on all other diets and didn't stick to the so called lifestyle change that I tried many times I did my research and made the best decision ever and got my band. With the assistants of the band it has made it possible for me to stick with it. I wish I had done it sooner.

Before I actually had my surgery it was:

2- Had some concerns, but was satisfied with my research.

Being 2 years post-op I would have to say I wish I would have:

3- I hesitated but felt it was an efficient way to get healthy again.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
