open incision-anyone have this issue?

Recommended Posts

I was banded 2 weeks ago and I have one incision open at this time. I had staples removed a week ago and they told me it would have to heal from the inside out. It had a scab down in the center and it came out this morning and the edges are drying and turning brownish. I am concerned that it isn't healing correctly since it is a hole now. There isn't any drainage or puss:crying:

Any suggestions?

I am worried that I won't be able to get my first fill on June 2nd

I wouldn't worry about it if it isn't pussy or red around the edges. If you develop a high fever or it starts to streak red then I would worry.

I am having the same situation with 2 of my incisions and that's what my surgeon told me. He also told me to put neosporin on it and a clean band-aid every day to keep bacteria out.

i had an open incision too, and my doctor put me on antibiotics to prevent any infection... but it was fine after, he just told me to keep it clean, and shower twice a day to make sure nothing would get in there and cause infection.

good luck! oh! it also closed pretty fast so, i dont think you should have a problem by the time u get ur fill!

I had that happen with my little one. I used steri strips for about two weeks. Finally, it closed but it seeped for a while.

Just keep it clean, it will heal. And if it looks pussy get in to see the dr.
