Is there anyone that lives near or on Cape Cod MA that is being or has been banded?

I am having my surgery on July 15th and would love to have someone close by to walk with and do other fun exercise with....just a thought!

Have my fingers crossed .... would love to have a buddy that is going through the same thing near to me!

Hi Lisa,

I'm in Norton, MA. Not on the Cape but a half hour to the Canal. Where do you live? Maybe we can meet and have a cup of coffee or Iced Tea?

Hi Lisa,

I just read your profile. I have Dr. Robinson too:lol:!!

Toooo funny!! I'm having my surgery at Brigham & Women's but going to Faulkner for my Support Group.

I went last Monday. The group was small but very nice and real honest.

Wow we could go together to the support group....see this makes it so much more interesting and enjoyable to share this with you rather then do it alone!

You made my day!

I am so close to the Rotary in Middleboro...there is a Dunkin Donuts right there if you want to meet!

I couldn't do end of month for my surgery...they wanted to give me July 1st but I work in Finance so I told them it had to be mid month. YOU are so lucky! Getting it done sooner is better!

Can't wait to meet you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
