I have lost 35lbs and gone down from a size 22 (uk) to a 16, since 9.9.2009 when I got my band.

Last weekend I did some online shopping and I ordered a load of different types of knickers because I did not know what sort I would fit or would look nice - shorts, midis, high-leg, bikinis or what.

I just had to get rid of my "Bridget Jones" big knickers.

What a difference it makes to my self esteem to wear nice new underwear that is not baggy and tired and too big.

OK, they are just cotton chain store knickers but I have got black ones with lace, and some black and white polka dot ones and they are just great.

It puts a spring in my step! I can highly recommend it!:w00t:

That is a really fun feeling. I can't wait to throw away my 10 litre ones too.

I just did this too. I pulled the new ones out of the package and told hubby these look too small. They fit though and boy was I excited.

Nothing like sexy undies to make you feel great! (Even if no one else knows!) ;-)

That's really exciting. I haven't gone to buy any new ones yet, just enjoying the way that the old ones are now fitting correctly and some are getting too big. I'll go buy some soon. When I do go shopping for them, one of the stores that I am going to go into is Victoria Secrets. I am going to make a point to say something to someone in there too. The last time that I went in there was just to look and dream about being able to where something in there and the little girl (Young & Small) was so rude, seeing my size, that I was extremely insulted. Don't know that I would ever buy anything from there ever, because of that. They are not the only sexy undy store around.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
