Magnoliaz 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi, I am new to the forum. I am starting the process of trying to see how I can afford the surgery. I do have insurance but when I applied for a weight loss program I was denied due to time I had no health issues. I gained additional 89 lbs and have some small health issues BUT want the madness to stop before they become larger issues. So I am looking for any advice on how to handle my insurance which is PPK. Any other advice is much appreciated in advance.
tinksmom 0 Posted May 14, 2010 My insurance will not pay fpr weight loss programs, but will pay for surgery. Maybe that's because they've crunched enough numbers to decide that the surgery works better. Who knows. anyway, just because your insurance didn't cover one thing, doesn't mean they won't pay for banding. Usually the doctor's office coordinator will check this for you after you attend a seminar. You don't need to make a commitment to the doctor for them to do this...it's part of their job and they know just who to contact.
