You need to have self control during this time! Eat the right things and go for walks.

You never know...he may give you a fill that day. I know a person who recently went to her 6 week follow-up appt and left with an unexpected fill.

Or as the date gets close and you find yourself really fighting the hunger pains call him and say you really think you'll need a fill on the 11th.

Good Luck

Melissa

It's hard for me too. I was banded on 4/22 and I have no fill yet. What has been helping me is planning out 3 small meals and 3 healthy Snacks, and drinking lots of Water in between, so that I don't get too terribly hungry.

And coming here for moral support is wonderful. We're all in this together -- we can do it!

I would ask for a fill at your next appt. I had my first fill 6 weeks out. Just be aware the first fill may not do it. It often takes several to get restriction- took me 3. Until then, hang in there. I suggest focusing on eating the right things, even if your portions are bigger than they will be with restriction. Best wishes!

That is what Im going to do just be healthier with the eating. I had some instant mashed potatoes with skim milk and some pureed Soup it was awesome. I'm going to join the gym this weekend and start out slowly on the treadmill hopefully that will help me continue to lose weight!!!!!! Thanks guys for your support.

Hi,

I was banded May 4th and have my first fill schedule June 14th. I am managing well at this time, but I too want to keep off what I have lost and make good choices until that time.

Good luck

I have an appointment 1 month out too and he may or may not do a fill at that time. I have zero in my band now.My PA said she has many patients with nothing in there band and 1 patient that has 6 cc's - the most she's ever put in a band. It all depends on you. I have a friend that is a year out from surgery and still has 0 in her band and is still losing! Just listen to your body and your doctor. This is all new for us and in time we will figure it out. A whole new way to live. Cheers!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
