I guess the best way to stop is not to buy those things. You are right, chips are always easy to eat. They were never my big thing, so I probably don't have the attraction to them that some people do. I love ice cream. I've just had to quit buying it. Do you need a fill? Cindy

We don't buy snack items and if we do it's like once a month. My house (food wise) is pretty bare and it really helps me stay on track.

Best of luck to you!

Yeah those nasty crackers and chips go down way to easy, even slow.

My problem is I can't stop at 1 portion so I try not to have any at all. Last week I was eating gold fish crackers and said to myself OMG this has got to stop. So far this week I haven't had any.

Hey !! if you need to snack how about a cup of Soup or a hot cup of tea, diet coco mix, something like that. Alot of times we're not really hungry but want something.

Good luck !!

DANG chips !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love to snack... I just try to snack on better things.. like carrots or celery. I have to have chips and stuff in the house for my husband.. but I rearly try them. So if you can stay away from buying them I would.. Make yourself a veggie snacking tray.. It makes you feel speical and you get to snack.

I just dont keep things in the house that I will eat. I bake for the kids in small batches, time it for right before they get home from school and let them go. I have to use my willpower for a short period of time but odds are they'll polish off the lot, if they dont its straight in the bin.

I can keep chips and ice cream for them because neither of those do anything for me. But I cannot keep biscuits, cakes, muffins, nuts, fancy cheeses or anything like that in the house. And I only bake basic butter cake or basic Cookies for the kids, nothing too attractive. If I made a carrot cake I'd eat the lot by myself!

I am not a great one to give advice on snacking on the right thing. I have a MAJOR problem with chocolate. I am not too bad with other snackey stuff. I find that almonds or the fruit and nut mixes are good for snacking on. As for bread I could eat that easily up until 2 fills ago...now I can osrt of eat it if I take my time and be careful but I dont find it worth it so I dont.

My mom who is also banded eats bread, she had gravy over a biscuit for lunch the other day, I almost choked just thinking about eating bread. I haven't had bread since I was banded, boy would a great big juicy cheeseburger be good. Sometimes I want to go to the doctor and have my fill taken out for 24 hours so I can enjoy food like I use to, but then I would never do that, hummmm, maybe over Thanksgiving, LOL.

Soup is my biggest companion now. Speaking of which, has anyone tried that new package at costco, it's three boxes of soup, ready to pour, then after opening it keeps in the fridge for a while, like a mini milk carton.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
