HELP! Slippage? Food Stuck? What is wrong?

Recommended Posts

My History:

Banded 3/08

Very Sensitive to fills!

I have had a rough time with fills. I swell very easily and have numerous fills taken out. My dr. filled me very slowly and I have had my last fill 8/09. It has lasted and I am doing very well.

I also take it very easy and eat only what I should and am very careful because I don't want to lose my fill. Since August I have lost the majority of my weight.

Last few days...

For two days I have suddenly felt very tight to the point of not being able to keep liquids down! sipping Water and it is coming up. I have a lot of discomfort.

I am worried that my band has slipped but do not have any idea how that could have happened!

Seeing my dr. first thing monday am but was hoping for some insight to make it through this weekend.

Any other symptoms? Do you have reflux? Metalic taste in your mouth? Heaviness in your chest?

I've slipped/prolapsed twice.

Please let us know what the Dr says. I am having the same problems and my Dr is mystified.

I had 2 cc in my band,1 after 1 month then another in Dec. (Banded in Sept 2009)

I lost the weight by watching everything I eat, and I cut out most sweets. Don't seem to crave them anymore which is great.

For the past three months when I take the first bite I feel stuck and can't swallow even the saliva and have to bring up that food. It sometimes takes 30 minutes to get it up because I can't make myself vomit. I try drinking a big gulp of liquid and all that comes up is the liquid or saliva. Then I can eat the rest of my dinner without a problem but I am sick of eating cold food.

Tuesday I had 1 cc taken out (so now I have 1 cc). I ate good Tuesday and Wednesday but last night I took one bite and brought up saliva for 3 hours. It was the worst night of my life, and I wound up breaking a few blood vessels in my eyes from the vomiting and now my eyes are bloodshot.

I called my Dr and was told to do shakes for a few days and then back to soft, but I can't even stomach the shakes, my stomach feels so queasy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
