8 days post op..."weight loss" stalled?

Recommended Posts

sweetie...I don't think you read all the responses, and how I corrected my typo in my second response. This post wasn't about losing weight...it was asking if anyone else was in the same position...where the weight loss seemed to slow in the second week of full liquids. That's all. I appreciate everyone's story, as we all have one.

I don't...I repeat...don't expect a fast weight loss. I was just asking a question. I have a feeling I will be a "slow loser' and that is very typical of my history. I was hoping to hear that others were in the same boat.

So you didn't hear the " "OMG I'M 3 DAYS OUT AND OMG BUT I CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT! OMG OMG OMG OMG!"....from me.

but thanks for your input!

One of the times I successfully lost weight on WW I lost rapidly...and soon hated it. I began to add non-WW foods to slow my loss because my skin was really getting loose and unattractive. And I have seen people with full bypasses left with stretch marks and loose folds from rapid loss. I chose the band because it offered slow loss...so hopefully my skin will be able to "keep up", and I can gradually work eating changes into my life for the long term. I found myself getting impatient and looking at the scale too often this past month, and keep reminding myself that for any other diet, I would be thrilled with losing 14 pounds in a month. I think, having made this momentous, life-changing decision, I am somewhat surprised to look in the mirror and NOT be instantly size 10...and of course, 18 again. Then again, sometimes on a good day, I am surprised at seeing any ,uh, mature woman in the dratted mirror.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
