LEXUS86985 21 Posted May 5, 2010 I had the lap band procedure in October 2009 and have since lost 72 pounds!! I'm very excited and love to share my story with anyone and everyone that will listen. I definitely recommend it to anyone that would ask me!! Along those lines...does anyone know of any opportunities to maybe do a commercial or become a speaker in support of the lap band procedure??? I see so many people benefitting from their success and to be honest I would like to do that as well. The important thing is that the information get to people that could really use the help...extra money certainly would not hurt me at the moment!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! :bored:

juliansmom2003 3 Posted May 6, 2010 Congrats to you on your success. I too am an Oct 09 bandster and it's nice to hear how people are doing that were banded in that time frame. Did you have to attend a seminar before getting an appt with the surgeon? Perhaps you could talk to the surgeon or whoever runs the program about being a speaker at one or you could contribute to the film strips some of them show to potential bandsters. Just a thought... Chellz423 0 Posted May 6, 2010 Wow amazing results. I was banded 10/09 as well....I'm 49 pounds down :-)
LEXUS86985 21 Posted May 7, 2010 I actually did not have to attend a seminar. My doctor apparently is one of the BEST in New York. He had a great program but there was no seminar. We had a consultation and then went about getting all the other stuff done to schedule the surgery. I've found each surgeon is very very different!!
chrisdirects 0 Posted May 8, 2010 Good for you, wanting to spread the news! You might want to consider, if your surgeon doesn't have one organized already, moderating a support group...then, you could encourage folks to bring their friends who are thinking of having the surgery. My surgeon gives a monthly lecture at the local hospital about WLS, followed by our support group. It's almost always full, sometimes to standing room only! Best wishes!
