checking in 4 months post op

Recommended Posts

Well I'm 4 months post -op and down 50 pounds. It feels great. I can't wait to lose more. I had my lap band surgery with Dr. Schuster at St.s Mary & Elizabeth in Louisville, Kentucky. Things couldn't have have been better. Little pain if any. Was very smooth. I've only had 2 fills so far. I get my 3rd fill next Wednesday the 12th.

is 50 pounds in 4 months decent? I kinda feel like I've stalled but - I know i'm getting another fill soon. I'm really wanting to hit 100 pounds lost in a year.

I am 4 mos post-op as well and have only lost 30 lbs. Everyone is different. I have my 3rd fill on 5/10. Hoping this will kick-start the weight loss a little more.

We're on similar schedules and I'd also love to lose the 100 within a year. I'm also feeling a little stalled and haven't really lost much over the past month. My third fill is in two weeks. Can you eat whatever you want right now? Do you get stuck? Just curious about how the second fill worked for others. Regardless, it sounds like you're right on track. Congratulations!

honestly I felt tighter after my first fill. my second fill felt like he loosened it. LOL

I get my third fill next wednesday the 12th. I went in for a fill 6 weeks ago and he turned me down for a fill - said he thought i had more to lose on the current fill. I didn't drop much since then less than ten. so I'm ready for my 3rd fill - I can't wait. I'm going to do liquids a day early hoping to jump start the losing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
