Anybody w/ Locs...Did you lose hair?!

Recommended Posts

Yeah...I've finally gotten my hair to grow past my shoulders by loc-ing for the last 2 1/2 years and now I'm hearing about Hair loss. I'm 25 and my hair, while "kinky" or "nappy" or w/e you wanna call it (it's a really tight curl), is pretty thin, and I was wondering if anyone was loc'd and had any news for me (good or bad).

I'm trying not to freak out, but my hair is one of the few things about my appearance that I like, lol:hurt:

I didn't know Hair loss was a side effect of being a bandster until I read about it here. I have recently begun loosing hair, the drain in the shower is covered and I am finding them all over the house. I have also read it stops on it's own so I am trying not to worry too much about it. Luckily I have think hair.

I have always had very fine, thin hair. I cant afford to lose any hair so I made sure that I never missed my Protein goal. I get at least 60g a day, everyday and I have not had any Hair loss. It may just be coincidence but I am not taking any chances.

My hair is thinning, but not falling out in masses that it is even noticeable. I actually think my in is genetics, as all the women in my family hair begins to thin around 40 and gradually worsens as you get older. Just in case, I get well over 60grams of Protein, take Biotin and getting protein treatments from hairstylist.

Most likely your hair will start thinning/falling out around 4/5 months post op...What I did was eat Protein, take Biotin, and wash my hair with NIOXIN! slowly my hair started to grow back. My hair is nice and thick now..I've been treating it for about 3 months now, so just be patient, it will grow back as long as you take care of the problem

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
