So excited!!!! Got approved!

Recommended Posts

I am new on here and just want to share a little bit of my experience. I was so nervous about approval of insurance for lapband and to my suprise it went super fast. I had a 3 month multi-disciplinary plan that insurance required. A bmi of 42 and no co-morbities. I had past history of weight loss atempts. My doctors submitted my file to insurance on a monday and I was approved on tuesday. It took one day. YES! All my nervousness was gone away. I also have aetna pos two. Hope this helps for others waiting to hear back or going in to the approval. :scared2:

Congratulations! Insurance approval was the most stressful part so far for me as well! Everything else FLIES by after you get that letter in your hands! Glad it wasn't a painful process and good luck to you! :scared2:

Congrats Lique24 - I also have Aetna insurance. My paperwork was sent to them on April 20. I called on April 22 to check the status and she said it looks good so far and that I could call every afternoon to check the status. I called yesterday and she said they just approved it. Spoke with the surgery coordinator at my surgeons office and said they have to wait for the official call but penciled me in for pre-op May 3 and surgery on May 13. FAST!!! :scared2:

Congrats to those that have been approved. I just check Tricare website and it has a BIG FAT "D" on it DENIED. I have a BMI of 40 with some other health issues. I has a sleep study last Friday and still waiting on the results. I'm not sure well I eas denied. My Doc office is filing all the paperwork. I have an appt with the nut on Thursday, wondering if I should keep it?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
