Thank you all for kind words, I hope this is not long winded....To Hking... In the morning I eat a protein/breakfast bar, then for lunch I eat either cottage cheese or turkey and cheese rolled up(cold cuts) about 4 or 5 of them. then for dinner I eat fish most night or egg salad or chicken salad. On occasion i will go get a couple of tacos from taco bell( I can only eat the hard shells, the soft ones still get stuck).

I am a UPS driver and I deliver in the industrial area, so I am lifting heavy boxes all day long and I walk about 7-9 miles a day at work(i used a pedometer). when i get home at night I try at least 4 or 5 times a wek to go with wife and walk dogs to the beach about a mile away. I am sure alll the physical exertion at work has a big thing to do with the weight loss.

But since the Band I am not really hungry that much. In the begining I tried eating everything too quickly and it kind of turned me off on food. Now after seven months I think I finally got it...eat slowly and take little bites, DONT LET OTHERS RUSH YOU WHEN YOUR EATING!!! go at your own pace.I find when i rush or eat fast you get fuller quicker and then your hungry 10 minutes later. I eat Breakfast and lunch alone so its not a problem. dinner is tougher with my wife but she is starting to take her time also wich helps me out.

I am extremely happy with the weight loss and when i got banded in October I thought it was a misteak and missing eating all the things I loved were not worth it and I was sorry I got banded. I seriously thought about reversing it, because I didnt think i could do it. But today I am glad I stuck with it. The everyday things like tying your shoes, pulling the plug in the tub, bending down to pick something up with out huffing and puffing, shoveling snow(I did it for 2 hours straight this winter with out getting winded...I could only go for 5 minutes before), just things "normal sized" people do everyday take for granted are so much easier to do now.and clothes....WOW no more tight 3x shirts that I had to stretch out before i put on. XL for me now and there a little loose!. I went from a tight 48 inch waist and now im in a 38 inch waist...it feels good to go to a regular store and buy clothes.....

Sorry for going on and on...but i feel great and wished I did this years ago! good luck to everyone and thanks again for the great posts that kept me motivated and helped me out when I had my doubts.....Carmine:thumbup::eek:

Well done... I've just passed the 70lbs mark and am hoping that I get to 100lbs... I'll be close to goal by that point. My weight loss has been a lot slower, but I recognize a lot of the feelings and emotions that you're talking about. It's funny - I wanted my band out and it took me 8 months to figure out how not to throw up almost every time I eat. Now I'm just in the home stretch of weight loss, and then I've got to think about how to keep it off in a healthy and nutritionally balanced way. Good for you!!! Good for us all!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I am still another two weeks away from my surgery but I keep coming back to the post-op boards just to hear stories like this! They keep me so motivated and encouraged. I think it'll really help me get through this "bandster hell" period I keep hearing about. So thank you for being a pioneer of success and good habits from our newbies! I hope to have a similar success and stick around so I can "pay it back" in the future! =)

Congratulations, Carmine! You inspire me to keep on keepin' on! I'm 3 months out and have lost almost 50 pounds. I'm still in shock and so happy amd feel great! My 1 regret is that I had done this sooner! I'm still finding my way with the band but absolutely NO regrets!!Enjoy your success and thanks for sharing your story!!!
