Ok I have lost 101 lbs in 10 months!!! YEA:thumbup: But I didn't think I had good restriction. Boy was I wrong!! I got only .30 of a fill and I have been burping and hiccuping every since 1:30 pm today. After trying to eat 5 spoons of Soup. I will call my doctor in the morning if I can make it through the night. I am miserable.

Thanks and good luck on your life time journey:) I have a feeling he put air in my band. That's why I think I have so much discomfort. I have had about 8 fills and 1 unfill and never felt like this. Even when I was too tight.

Peaches I am so impressed with your weight loss success! You are certainly an inspiration to me:tt1:

I am also very sorry that you are having such a difficult time with your last fill. I have had a hard time with my last 3 or 4 fills. I have some pain, sliming, foaming and can't even drink anything without it causing more foaming...then I have to make some of it come up..not really vomiting just like a foaming pb!

Anyway, my surgeon has told me that this happens because the fill puts pressure on the vagus nerve that runs by the spot where the band is. It is the nerve that lets us know we are full. Luckily, he also told me that the nerve will calm down in about 24 hours and he is right!! That is the good news:smile2:, the bad news is that you have to deal with the yuckie part for most of those hours. No sleep to speak of until the nerve settles down.

I don't know if this is what has happened to you, but you might ask your doctor about it.

Hang in there and please let us know what your doctor thinks happened.

All the best to you.

Hopefully, by the time you read this, the swelling will have calmed down a little bit and you'll be feeling like, "Oh, yeah---this is better!"

If not, and you can't keep liquids down, call the doc sooner rather than later!

Thanks everyone:) I didn't sleep much last night. But I do feel a little better this morning. It is starting to calm down a bit. But I am still going in today at noon. I can't stand to be uncomfortable:(

Thanks! I think what worked best for me was Portion Control. Only eat 3 meals a day and no Snacks. I do workout about 4 times a week and 2 times with a personal trainer for the loose skin. It's helping a lot. Good luck with your journey:)

I love my band:thumbup:

Feeling so much better!! I did go in today and the doctor took out some of the fill. Which wasn't much to begin with but too much for me I guess. He did agree that I got some air in my band or he said it could have just been a nerve that was causing the reaction I was having. Still have very little, but much better!!! It is so weird cause everyone is so much different, I don't have 5cc in and I guess I'm at my spot. Something must be right though cause I am losing weight:) Lost 3 more pounds overnight:thumbup:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
