~NaKeD JuIcE~ Protein Drink

Recommended Posts

I have had a really hard time finding a Protein drink that I like! Pre-op I was on a full liquid diet in which I had to drink 2 Protein drinks. I found that Ensure was the only one I could get down and that was with a plugged nose. I am 7 days post-op and went into my local grocery store yesterday and found this wonderful Protein juice. It's called Naked- Protein Zone. They have a berry flavor and pina colada flavor. 8 oz. is 220 calories and has 16g of protein! I replace Breakfast with one of these and love it!

I forgot to mention it does not have that nasty protein taste!

I look at that product almost every time I'm at the grocery store and I've heard about other people liking it! I'll have to try it. My NUT recommended GLUCERNA. It was made for diabetics and most of her patients love it. It's really very good, especially ice cold!

Naked juice is so delish!!! The Protein one is kinda grainy but its still really good. Its going to get expensive over time though, its about 4 dollars a bottle (here anyways).

Have you ever tried Protein powder and make your own, I have noticed it tastes a lot better.

Try Bodybuilding.com - Protein Finder! A Search Tool That Finds The Perfect Protein For You! you can search for what your looking for by fat, cals, protein, carbs... I love this website, it has tons of flavors and I always end up buying something different!

lovepolka84 - that's so funny that you posted about this, because i basically posted the same thing today a few posts before you! :) i loooooove it, and have been drinking 1/2 of one (240 cal) for Breakfast. it is super delish in my opinion. yeah, a bit grainy, but worth it for the flavor! :)

I don't really need to supplement with Protein at my stage but I do love that juice, matter of fact I'm having some right now, LOL. I always feel like I need more fruits and veggies so I get the fruit juices for myself, it is a great boost of Vitamins for me. I find that I am tighter in the morning so most mornings, a half bottle of this stuff is perfect to satisfy me until lunch and it tastes sooo good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
