In June it will have been 2 years. It has not been the easy road I expected. It has not been problem free. However, when asked if I would do it again, I always answer the same. YES!

The lap band doesn't make it easy to lose weight. It makes it possible.

For those of you considering a lap band, try to be realistic. For those of you struggling somewhere in the middle, be encouraged, it can be a long haul, but it's wonderful. And for those of you who have finished your trip already, congratulations!

I love the positive threads the most!! Thank you!!! I feel the same way about the band. I am struggling with getting it paid for, but I do not resent the payments at all. I feel so fortunate to be able to accomplish the biggest thing I have ever done. 48 lbs does not sound like a lot, but for me, it is huge. I am glad to hear you are doing so well two years down the road. Here is to many more great years!!! Hugs!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
