Looking for Fills in Atlanta Georgia

Recommended Posts

I was banded in Mexico and would like to know if anyone knows any Doctors in the Atlanta area that will provide fills at a reasonable cost. I've found several Doctors that require upfront money in the range of $1500-$2000 which to me is excessive. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I think we got our band on the same day. October 21st?? Just thought I'd drop you a note. I don't know of any fill doctors in your area, but I did find one here in Texas that is about 1 hour from where I live for $200 with fluoro...I actually have an appointment set up for the end of this week. I hope everything is going well for you and good luck with finding a fill doctor

EDAZUL - Can you give me the Doctors name and number you found in Texas and do you know if they accept patients who were banded in Mexico?

Hi Dunatl - There are several doctors in Atlanta that work with the lapband. I'm just not sure if they'll give fills to patients banded elsewhere. I see Dr. Duncan at Peachtree Bariatrics. You could always call their office and ask. Good luck!

Hey Dunatl,

I've sent you a message via email, but I forgot to answer your question about whether they accept MEXICO banded patients and the answer is yes.

Hey Dunatl,

I'm sorry, I guess I did something wrong since you didn't get the email I sent you, but that information on the fill doctor is the following; Her name is Dr Stephanie Eijsink and she is in College Station . Her address is Scott and White Clinic ,1700 University , College Station, Tx 77840. Her phone number is 979-587-0000 and her email address is seijsink@swmail.sw.org, If you email her she will answer any questions and the great thing is that she has weekend appointments. Hope this helps and I will let you know how it goes this Sunday... Have a great Thanksgiving

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
