Does walking relieve a stuck episode?

Recommended Posts

Sometimes when I feel "stuck" if I get up and walk a little the food goes through and the "stuck" feeling goes away. I was wondering if anyone else has this happen?

It is very common as gravity helps it go down. Sometimes I just have to stand up and the food goes down.

Good Luck:wink2:

I had that happen too...sometimes on the way to the bathroom to PB it suddenly passes. I've also noticed that straightening up and taking a deep breath also helps things pass.

My Nutritionist told me to try Papaya pills that also helps if you get stuck. It is like the stomach enzymes and helps to break the food down faster. I tryed it the other day and it really works.

I bought the pills in the Drug store right where the Vitemines are sold.

I used the papaya enzymes in the beginning, and at times thought they helped. Now there are times when walking around helps and other times that it doesn't at all. One night this week, I went for my 5 mile walk after eating, feeling a little bit stuck. I figured the walk would fix it. It didn't. After I got home, I tried to drink Water, and the stuck item came right back up. Every day is different. I can go weeks without any trouble, then all of a sudden I will have trouble with a food that is usually fine. Can't figure it out at times, but it always works out fine!!! Hugs!!!!

I walk around when food gets stuck - but what has worked best for me - I play tennis on my Wii (if I am home) - Helps in three ways – 1) By concentrating on the game my attention is diverted from the PBing sensation, 2) Food goes down rather than coming up 3) Get some exercise :-)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
