Hi

My name is Susi85 and i was banded 11/25/09 as well as having a ventral hernia fixed. I am unable to exercise much w my work schedule and extreme fatigue. Needless to say i have only lost 30 lbs and have started eating all the wrong foods and too much. I need someone who is willing to help me help myself.

Is there anyone out there? I need more one on one.

Thanks alot

Hi Susi:

I'll be glad to offer any help that I can. You can email me directly or send me PM's. First suggestion is for you to start journaling what you eat so you know, really know, what you are pyutting into your body. Second is to set up an appointment with your doctor for a fill if necessary, or a "head adjustment" if that is all that is needed. Third suggestion is to get hooked up with a lap band support group if possible, and, no matter what your schedule is, make it your business to attend at least once a month. whew, I hope I haven't overwhelmed you, You may find osme more interesting ideas that could work for you at my blog Sandi's Banded Living — My Lapband Weight Loss Success Story

Looking forward to hearing from you so you can start on the road to great health again. And, by the way, Celebrate the pounds you have lost and the fact that you are now doing something about continuing the process and learning to use your tool again.

Sandi, Thanks for sharing this. I visited your site and it's exactly what I was looking for. I have read and read and read but your site put so many of the pieces together. It helps that we have similar stories w/r/t age, success, and weight being the one area where success was a challenge. Mary

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
