Just how many fills can a band hold?

Recommended Posts

I know this is a crazy question,,, but listening to everyone chat about their band and how the maintenance of it is what makes it work,,, getting a new fill ever so often. Well,,, what happens when your band is to the limit,,, example: a 10cc band,,, you have 80 more pounds to loose and you are at 7cc's now. If I do the math,,, I'm SO afraid that I'll get all the fills that I can get and not be at my weight,,, I'd be sorta doing it all on my own again with no band help.

Does this make any sense to anyone or am I just being crazy?

Sorry, but I get the feeling that you do not exactly understand how the fills work. Once you get to your correct fill level, you shouldn't need too much adjustment to your band as you continue to lose weight. Even .05 or .1 cc can make a huge difference. While there may be a few people that end up with a "fully filled" band and don't have enough restriction, that is more a problem with the wrong size band originally being placed by the surgeon. You're not going to put a 14cc band in a person with a small stomach to begin with. Or at least you shouldn't be.

I think your worry about filling your band completely should not be a concern right now. For some people, it only takes 1 or 2 cc's in a 10cc band, for others, 8 or 9 cc's. It is my understanding that the tubing also can hold 1-2 cc's of Fluid in addition to the actual band. Myself, I'm at 7.8 cc's and don't expect to ever need much more than that. There is also the possibility of a little of the Fluid "kind of" evaporating every year. Don't ask my why, but apparently this is somewhat common. But apparently it is a negligible amount.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
