Not at all. Actually, I hate to say this, but you will experience many plateaus throughout this journey. Keep in mind that you are taking a lot less calories in and your body learns to expect this and reacts by holding onto calories (starvation mode). You can trick it by fluctuating (i.e. 800 one day, 1000 the next) and it should help to jump start your metabolism (that's what works for me). Be sure if you're exercising to figure that in, as you need to be sure you're getting enough calories in that your body isn't sliding into starvation mode.

Hope I wasn't too confusing LOL

My suggestion is to not get on the scale so much- there will be flucuations from day to day. I weigh myself once a week. If I weighed more often I know I would be dissapointed anytime the scale didn't move, or God forbid went up. Best wishes!

Thanks for the advice. Not too confusing. I will try to "shock and awe" my body

I have to agree with the others...9 pounds is great for 2 wks. There will be times you will have plateau's unfortunately. I do too. One of these days soon you will get on that scale and have another good weight loss! Good Luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
