Isopure Protein Beverage

Recommended Posts

So is Isopure yummy? I just purchased 9 bottles for my upcoming surgery. I need to stock up on a variety of Protein beverages. I also have Atkins, which is disgusting when I haven't had surgery on my stomach, so I can just imagine how nauseating it will be after I have the surgery, at least for the next week. - Ya know?

Hi - I got my band two weeks ago and have been drinking Isopure. Personally I like it - I've tried the Alpine Punch (fruit punch / strawberry taste) and the pineapple Orange banana. I alternate between the two (Alpine Punch one day, the other the next). Usually takes me 4 to 5 hours, sipping during the workday. I got a case of each from GNC to get me through the first month or so...

Good Luck to you!

I, actually, dislike it immensely. It tastes "fuzzy".

I couldn't get through the 4 bottles that I bought - I barely got through 1.

I like Isopure, my favorite flavors are Mango and Blue Raspberry. I also, like Unjury products, the chicken Soup tastes like lipton's instant soup, also the strawberry sorbet is great - I mix this with 12oz of Water and crystal light. Try different brands and varieties you'll find what works best for you. By the way, Unjury sells sample packets for less than $2.00 each - give it a try.

Not my favorite, but doable. Like the Grape Frost best. Its all kind of sweet for my taste...makes me think of melted popsicles  anyway, my biggest complaint is getting all the settled protien to redesolve into the liquid...its really gross to get a mouthful of lump

I like the pineapple one pretty well! I didn't like the Raspberry or the Apple Melon ones too well.. They have a very bitter/sour taste to them. I have a few more of these flavors and I Water them down sometimes. I personally like them better then most Protein Shakes though. Nature's best also makes an extreme smoothie (it's in a can), that I like pretty well... It's pretty low calorie and has 35g of Protein.< /p>

Thanks. I really appreciate all your posts. I'm stuck with 9 bottles of the stuff now. I'm not looking forwarding drinking lumps of undissolved Protein. That sounds vile! I just want to make sure I'm getting enough nutrients in while I can't eat solids. I guess I'm stuck with the Isopure for now.

I use the small bottles that have 0 carb and 15 grams of Protein (8 ounce bottles). The Alpine Punch is ok and I like the Grape Frost. I bought a case of each on Amazon.< /p>

Isopure used to be among the best. It's okay if VERY cold, and even better if put in a sports bottle (with a top)--that way, you can kind of avoid the Protein stench.

I VASTLY prefer Inspire Proteins from bariatriceating.com. They are just much, much better. They have a couple of fruity flavors (I like them more diluted than the package recommends- a scoop in a liter of Water, sometimes with Crystal Light lemonade added to change things a bit), as well as the standard chocolate, etc.

I like them better than any of the "shake" ones. So far I have tried the grape frost and alpine punch. I put it in a sports bottle with a ton of ice and it has a straw.

Texture is a huge issue for me, so far they are the only things I can stomach.

I have not encountered lumps of protein....so far.

Hi there,

I don't mind the Isopure in small quantities (2-4oz) and when it is very cold. I learned a trick that might help you sneak some Protein in - use Isopure in place of cold Water when making sugar free Jello.

I use Alpine Punch Isopure and SF Mixed fruit Jello. Mix Jello with one cup boiling Water, but then in place of 1 cup cold water use 1 cup cold Isopure.

Hope you like it.

The Jello trick is a good way to sneak it in without suffering through the after taste. I'll definitely give it a shot : )

Well it's 3 days after my surgery and I'm feeling hungry. liquids aren't quite enough anymore. I need to chew on something. I ate the carrots in my Soup. Good thing is that I can't eat that much, but I had no problem getting it down. Ha!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
