So I had my 3 hour appointment with my nutritionist on Saturday. We went into every aspect of my life from stress to food and exercise to sex life. She was easy to talk to, tough and funny. After looking at everything she told me what i have been dying to hear for years.... its NOT my fault. I ended up crying my eyes out for 15 minuets. For so long I have been telling doctors that 150 of these pounds are NOT my fault. Was I over weight before hand... yes about 50 pounds but no one would listen when i said all the meds and the depo I had been on. They just saw a fat girl and assumed I was hiding a food issue. I showed her a months of documented food and exercise. While I am elated that someone one has finally listened to me I am scared because she informed me that it will make my fight to loose weight even harder. My entire chemical make up is fed up because of what I took when i gained all the weight.

So now I have to trust another set of doctors who will be treating my hormonal imbalance along with me getting banded. Being banded will help jump start positive chemical changes in my body.

Hearing it will be more work only makes me more determined. now i know 100% what I am fighting and im ready to kick fats ass!

I might not have done this to myself but its up to me to fix it and I will!

FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Congratulations to you! I hate when no one listens. I had that problem with a doctor several years ago. Told him I was depressed and it was affecting my menstrual cycle. He wouldn't believe me. My depression passed (thankfully without medical help) and my body righted itself. Sounds like you have a great nutritionist!

I wasn't tiny ten years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer (195?!) and I was warned that chemo with the 'riods needed to keep my body from rejecting it could pack on at least 40 pounds. I made it through three courses of chemo and BOOM - there it was...despite not really eating. Add to that job stress, binge eating and at my highest I was 283. Every diet effort over the past 10 years failed. I had my band installed on 3/9 - lost 30 pounds prior to surgery and 10 since and the really remarkable thing - my blood glucose is now normal, and even though I can eat more than I did after the initial surgery, I am not putting on weight. It's like my body is getting back into balance!

I will never forget the one doctor I had five or six years ago who refused to give me a script for an appetite suppressant - "You don't try hard enough!"

I get where you're coming from - and don't lose your NUT - a good one is a blessing!

Wow, really! You're doctor was a nut! I've had something similar happen to me. After searching for a new primary care doc, I had this new doc tell me that he doesn't prescribe weight loss medication ever and basically told me to drink more Water and cut out all carbinated drinks. Like it was that easy and I hadn't already been doing that! I was sooo mad! How rude!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
