I had a wonderful day , and enjoyed riding my bike so much we did an hour with drink stops along the way the weather was glorious ...

We rode through the park area and around the quite roads circling the Big kids Playground and around the Public Pool parking area...we will do that till we feel fitter and less wobbly on the bikes then we will attempt the loverly ride around the lake ..I don`t want to fall in the lake or send some kid flying ..lol..as it was today I was laughing every time I had to pass someone walking or kids riding and told them I was a learner ..(there wern`t too many people there just some families and kids ) and they were nice and laughed with us ...

Hope the weather is nice tomorrow as we are planning on a ride in the afternoon once again....

attached a few older photo`s of the lake and park where we are able to walk/ride .....its a beautiful area...:smile2:

Hey marion!

Hope you have a great weekend as well! Sounds like you are really getting on well with your new bike!! Well done! I think I mentioned my husband and I want to get bikes sooner than later! (I'll take your advise and get a nice comfy seat!! )

sounds like you are also coping well with your first fill! You are giving me such hope!

Had my first "lifestyle change" class last night. It was really nice, especially since I met another nurse and we clicked right away. nice to have a band buddy as you put it.

The classes are taking us through the "mental" part of this process, which I really like. One of our first "homework" assignments was making a list of "what is important to us." Next using that list... what roles are important to us... and then finding somthing that is REALLY important... important enough to make us really want to be successful with our life style change. In other words... what is going to motivate us when the times get tough... which, I'm sure they will. What is that one thing that we can hold to, as the motivating force behind our decision.

next we have to set 3 "life style change" goals... attainable goals... such as exercising... or changing an eating habit etc. And 3 people each week, need to share. Very interesting. Before this, I never would have thought about the exact reasoning... or motivating forces behind all of this. coarse I want to be thin, wear lovely clothes, etc.. but beyound that... I have many other reasons that are meaningful.

Thought I'd share and give you food for thought! can never hurt to share knowledge!!

have a fantastic weekend and keep riding!!!

Tracy :)

Thats really great Tracy , we don`t have anything like that , just a dietitian and the Doctor...

I have had a wonderful Saturday ...our legs are pretty sore...

after 2 days riding in a row so if we are still feeling it in our legs tomorrow we will probably opt for a walk instead of a ride ...we usually start at 4pm now its getting dark earlier and finish by 5.30pm.....

Tonight I got home and warmed up a Quiche made a salad and it was yummie...after dinner we watched a DVD of my Brother and Sister in law (Alan and Pam ) the have been runninga orphanage in Tapachula Mexico for the past 9 years , they started with 7 kids and now have 54 ......The movie was made by some USA volunteers that stayed with them and were so impressed with them the made the documentry it has been showing around Australia now for months ....It made me so very proud of what they are doing the heartache and struggles they have had they are truely special people ....

Anyone want to volunteer ?? heres the link.....

Anyway then Joe went to bed and my sister (Julie) and I decided to watch a chic flick and put on MY SISTERS KEEPER....anyone seen it ?...a real tear jerker , just like The note Book....

anyway its really late so off to bed I go looking forward to my Sunday will visit the grandkids before I go riding or walking....

Hope everyones weekend is a great one ....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
