NurseShay 24 Posted April 8, 2010 Hi rain! Don't be too hard on yourself this can be a scary & unnerving decision to make for anyone! I still find myself looking for reasons to doubt the band, my surgical team & my own ability to successfully navigate this journey. Its a serious decision that requires your full understanding, trust & commitment. Don't feel rushed. And its awesome that you are trying out the lifestyle change before being banded! I'm sure it will make your transition easier for you. Anyone who can do a liquid diet is a martyr for weight loss in my book! =)) so welcome back & good luck with your journey wether you choose to be banded or not! =) ~Shay
mustlose 2 Posted April 8, 2010 Hi ! I did the same thing, started the process in 12/07...then chickened out. It really is a big decision, and you have to make sure it's the right one for you. Finally, I decided to do it, and just had the surgery on 3/31/10. At this point, I'm really glad I finally did it (even though it did take me 2+ years to get to this point!) good luck in your journey :smile2:

btrieger 21 Posted April 9, 2010 I think you are a lot braver for "chickening out" than those that aren't ready for surgery and go through with it anyways. Life is not a race. Take your time and have the surgery when you are ready or don't have it at all. I lost 95 pounds prior to surgery and I was NOT dieting. Dieting sucks!!! I simply cut my portions by about 25%; cut out all fast foods; and started walking 20-30 minutes a day.
