Recommended Posts

I hope someone can help me.....I had my band done 12/28/09 and never really have had any problems. I have now been having a little discomfort in the area where my band is at. my port area ia fine with no problems, I am able eat with no problems. I am not sure if my it's my band that just maybe just changing still. I had a fill done about a month or go and I notice I had some discomfort then as well. So I wonder if it's the same thing or something different. please help me I am just worried something has gone wrong with my band...thanks for your help

Please help me understand what exactly you are feeling, and when? Have you discussed what you are feeling with your doctor?

I called my Dr.office and I have an appointment Monday afternoon. I would have gone tomorrow but my mom is having surgery tomorrow morning. The nurse said maybe I have ate something that did not agree with me or swollen tissue she ask me where the discomfort is at and it kinda to my left rib area. She told me the band is higher up and chest area. so maybe this discomfort has nothing to do with my band...but I sure hope to goes away soon maybe it's just stress with my mom having surgery in the morning...I was doing great until this little discomfort came along. I will keep everyone posted

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
